The 2019 UEFA Champions League Final between Liverpool and Spurs averaged 2.9 million viewers across TNT, Univision and Univision Deportes Network combined.
Even though the two finalists were Premier League clubs, Univision and Univision Deportes Network averaged 1.4 million viewers across Spanish-language television.
On TNT, the game averaged 1.5 million viewers to deliver the most-watched UEFA Champions League Final ever on cable television. It was also the most-watched sports program of the day on cable TV.
On the English-language viewership for the game, the 2018 Real Madrid and Liverpool final averaged more than 2 million viewers on U.S. television on the over-the-air FOX network. The 2017 UEFA Champions League Final between Real Madrid and Juventus averaged 1.7 million viewers on the same network. Meanwhile, the 2016 final had 1,682,000 viewers.
This year was the first all-English UEFA Champions League Final since 2008, with TNT’s telecast up 37% over that comparable match (Manchester United vs. Chelsea –1,097,000 viewers on ESPN2).
Over the course of the entire season, this year’s UEFA Champions League coverage on TNT averaged 310,000 viewers for 45 live match telecasts, which represents the best numbers in a decade, while establishing new record-setting performances throughout Turner Sports’ first season as the exclusive English-language multimedia rights-holder. TNT’s comprehensive UEFA Champions League coverage was up +44% in viewership, with double-digit gains across all key demos versus last year.
Viewership for the B/R Football Matchday studio show telecasts were up +106% when compared to last year’s pre-match coverage on FOX Sports.
Regarding Spanish-language television, compared to last year on ESPN Deportes, Univision audience was +34%. Saturday’s Univision/UDN telecast delivered the largest audience for the UEFA Champions League final in Spanish-language since 2015. Overall, the performance on Univision caps off UEFA Champions League’s most-watched season in history, regardless of language.

Irrelevant place to ask for such information unless your purpose is to Troll MLS.
Univision Deportes had Carlos Puyol and Javier Zanetti as analysts in it’s Madrid studio. Both men with tons of experience. TNT had a basketball player and two other so called analysts who’s names is not worth mentioning. The network embarrassed itself with it’s coverage. I wish that someone had the power to pull the plug on TNT and find a new home for the UCL & UEL in the USA.
Pretty bad viewership for Univision considering they aired it over the air. It didn’t draw a much bigger audience compared to what ESPN/Fox Deportes drew in recent years and those networks are only available on pay TV. This is also another year the English language broadcast outdrew the Spanish one, In the past it was understandable because it aired on FOX (OTA) in English and on pay TV in Spanish but this year it was the other way around.
Tuned in to watch the game was awful . I tuned out the basketball analysts what a embarrassment the build up and post game was .
TNT coverage is terrible- learn from NBC. Even Fox is better than TNT.
Over half the post game show is advertisements – change the format and get better studio hosts!
Champions league final was an awful game, won by an obnoxious team.
The US TV coverage was poor. Sounded like it was coming from a phone box. Could barely hear the crowd and it got worse. For the 2nd half we got David Pleat as co-commentator. As usual he ruined it by talking non-stop.
Thankfully Liverpool didn’t win the league. We really would have never heard the end of it. Them winning this was bad enough.
1st time I haven’t made it a point to watch the final since 2013 (even recorded 2015 and avoided finding the score when couldn’t watch it live). Ajax vs Liverpool or Ajax vs Barcelona both would have been intriguing match ups. From the reviews it seems I didn’t miss much.
Man Utd supporter by any chance?
The Champions League Football Final may have not been the best game compared to the semifinals drama it built to. It is shameful/loser’s convenient reason that Pochettino and others like him alike blame the early penalty awarded to Liverpool for “changing the Dynamics of the game”. Tottenham failed to show up to the final and it’s lack of urgency or football play has most to contribute than simply having two English football clubs in a final.
I heard a co-worker of mine call Liverpool obnoxious, he’s a Man City fan…go figure. On the contrary, I am an Arsenal fan-oh woe is me.-and I found Liverpool very exciting, highly spirited and well polished. Add that to an extremely vocal crowd support makes it even more gratifying to watch. The only thing is is I wish the game portrayed the excitement and style that got these two teams there in the first place. The came was a “B” in my book.
