UEFA Nations League

UEFA Nations League TV schedule for September 6-11

Beginning this week, UEFA is launching the Nations League. The brand-new competition format will hopefully increase the competitiveness of matches that are played during the international break. And the best news of all is that every single game will be available to soccer fans in the United States.

ESPN’s coverage of the tournament will span across the ESPN networks and ESPN+ with most of the games being on the ESPN+ streaming service. Univision Deportes will bring soccer fans live Spanish-language coverage of all 142 matches from the inaugural UEFA Nations League, with more than 30 matches airing on linear networks Univision Deportes Network (UDN), UniMás and Univision. Every match from the competition will be available live online at UnivisionDeportes.com and the Univision Deportes app.

UEFA Nations League action kicks off Thursday, September 6, with live coverage of a titanic clash between the past two FIFA World Cup Champions, France and Germany. The league phase continues throughout September, October and November 2018, and will determine which four teams qualify for the single-elimination Semifinals in June 2019. The Nations League format also includes a system of promotion and relegation between the four tiers of the competition.

Univision Deportes’ coverage of UEFA competitions will feature a notable team of sportscasters, including UEFA Champions League winner and Ballon D’or 1994 Hristo Stoichkov; legendary Real Madrid and Inter de Milan striker Iván Zamorano; and iconic UEFA Champions League commentators Luis Omar Tapia and Diego Balado. Recent additions to the Univision Deportes team, including Tony Cherchi, Marc Crosas and Lucía Villalon, will also contribute to coverage of UEFA events.

Clueless, you are missing the point. They could easily show some of the better UEFA nations league games on ESPN NEWS or even on ESPN 2, because the many of those games are shown on weekday afternoons, and games on those afternoons are not conflicting with other higher ranked shows like they would be on the weekend afternoons.
And they can get reasonable deals on those UEFA nations league games as well.
What they are trying to do of course is get people to buy the streaming services to watch the games. Which of course is an extra expense that many people of average means can not really afford, or simply refuse to pay for. Therefore it is debatable if that such a stradegy is the best at making them more money in the long haul in regards to getting them more fans, better ratings, etc… Regardless, it means that fewer soccer fans will watch the games than would if it was on one of the ESPN cable tv stations .

England v Switzerland, listed on the home page, is a friendly not a Nations League game

So many good games from the UEFA Nations League
England vs Spain on Saturday & France vs Netherlands on Sunday. ESPN ignoring all of them. How do you expect to grow soccer in this country if you’re ignoring it. I’m not paying for ESPN plus, I don’t speak Spanish but I will watch the tournament on Univision Deports Network. Their coverage is fantastic. I’m sure millions more people will watch it on UDN instead. ESPN can go to hell

Yes how dare ESPN air something that gets cost them more in rights fees, gets them bigger ratings, earns them more advertising money! They should just air Soccer 24/7 to grow the game! Maybe they should just air 24/7 soccer talk! Maybe others should do the same, cancel American Idol, CSI, Big Bang theory, Game of Thrones, super bowl, the oscars and air MLS instead to grow it!

I was hoping xfinity would have added ESPN+ as they haved added ESPN3, SEC Network Plus and ACC Network Extra to their line up.

Not one game on network tv, a few on ESPN.

The rest are on pay per view streaming- average fans losing out again.

Soccer coverage is spread out on too many channels.

Univision needs to do a better job of advertising all those available games. Will they only be available through the app or also through an internet browser? AppleTV only has Univision NOW and not the Univision Deportes app.

I guess I can only watch three matches, as I only have ESPN and ESPN2. Oh well…..

If you have access to ESPN\ESPN2 you can use your service provider account login and access ESPN+ which streams all the games

Not the case, ESPN+ is an additional charge to your existing ESPN access via cable/streaming.

When ESPNNEWS is showing Cyprus Slovenia instead of France Netherlands, is that to get demand for ESPN+? Also, do we know the talent yet for ESPN?
