Telemundo has unveiled its theme music for the coverage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which is composed and produced by the award-winning Yoav Goren.

The theme song, “Sueño de Campeones” (see video below), was recorded from the iconic Abbey Road Studios in London. Meaning “Champions Dream” in English, the song is part of an extensive music package by the composer. It’ll be part of Telemundo’s coverage of the World Cup featuring 32 teams and a total of 64 matches, played across 12 venues in Russia.

The music package was inspired by the passion and beauty of the game while capturing the character and grandeur of the World Cup. “Sueño de Campeones” is inherently heroic and epic like the stories of the teams and players that make it to a World Cup, and particularly, the journey and resilience of the Latin American countries representing Telemundo’s core audience. The instrumentation starts acoustically with a guitar and violins and eventually builds in to a full orchestration, mirroring a player’s journey from hometown to the largest stadiums and the pinnacle of soccer, the World Cup.

Telemundo Deportes, one of the leading providers of Spanish-language sports content in the United States, is home to two of the world’s most popular sporting events: the FIFA World Cup through 2026 and the Summer Olympic Games through 2032. It is also the home of the FIFA Club World Cup until at least 2018. In addition, Telemundo Deportes broadcasts the FIFA World Cup CONCACAF qualifying matches for most of the region, including the Mexico and USA national teams’ away matches, and the Premier League.
