Legal streaming service DIRECTV NOW has launched their DVR, which is immediately available via all of the DIRECTV NOW apps and website.

Previously, the DVR was only available to users who were involved in the beta program, but it’s now accessible to all subscribers.

The DVR is entitled True Cloud DVR, and includes 20 hours of free recording. You can record your favorite shows and games and watch anytime you want for up to 30 days on your compatible smartphone, tablet or connected big screen at home. You can record an entire series or just one episode on almost all of the channels on DIRECTV NOW. Plus you can fast forward and rewind programs.

DIRECTV NOW will be launching more DVR options later this summer including the ability to record up to 100 hours and keep the programs stored for up to 90 days for $10 per month.

The DIRECTV NOW app that includes the DVR functionality is available on via the DIRECTVNOW.com website (for Google Chrome and Safari browsers), Apple iOS 10+, Apple TV (4th generation & higher running tvOS 10+), Chromecast (2nd generation & higher for iOS) and Chromecast Built-in TV. The app will be available on Roku, Fire TV and Android TV in the coming weeks.

As of press time, you can get DIRECTV NOW for $10 per month for the first three months of service.

And a subscription to the DIRECTV NOW satellite service is not required. DIRECTV NOW is completely separate from DIRECTV.

The other new features of the DIRECTV NOW app include:

• A new and improved design — You can view your current stream while browsing for something that you might want to watch next,

• Three simultaneous streams at once — You can enjoy up to three simultaneous streams per account. DIRECTV NOW comes with two streams, and you can get the third stream for $5 per month,

• Expanded on-demand content — DIRECTV NOW has added capacity so you can access even more on-demand entertainment than before,

• Access local channels on the road — If you want to watch local channels on the road (such as FOX or NBC), you can do that now with DIRECTV NOW.
