Manchester City has announced that the club will be participating in the 2018 International Champions Cup throughout the United States this summer, which will include a high-profile game in New York City.

City, who are currently chasing a first-ever quadruple (Premier League, League Cup, FA Cup and Champions League), will be competing in the tournament for the second year in a row.

According to City, “New York City is set to host one of the matches, with further destinations and opponents to be announced in the coming weeks.”

Other teams that are rumored to be participating in this summer’s International Champions Cup include Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.

“The soccer fans in the United States are so passionate about the game and it’s always a pleasure to visit here,” said City defender Benjamin Mendy, who was in the US this week to surprise City supporters. “When I go back to Manchester and tell the players about my trip I know they will be really excited to come here in the summer.

“We can’t wait to play in front of our US fans again.”
