With no Championship matches scheduled this weekend due to the international break, ESPN3 has decided to stream several matches from League One instead.

It’s incredibly rare for viewers in the United States to see any matches from League One (unless you subscribe to iFollow), so to have three available from the third tier of English football will be a treat. The matches will feature current League One leaders Peterborough United as well as former Premier League clubs Portsmouth and Bradford City.

Bristol Rovers, Rotherham and Doncaster are also featured.

BAMTech recently acquired the US rights to the Football League, which include the Championship, League Cup, League One and League Two. ESPN sublicensed the rights from BAMTech in order to show Championship and League Cup games via ESPN3. But when there are breaks in the club seasons as we have this weekend, it’s welcome news that ESPN has decided to broadcast games from League One.

If you’re a cord cutter or you don’t have access to ESPN3, you can watch the matches with a free 7-day trial to Sling Orange.

Here’s the streaming schedule for viewers in the United States (all times Eastern):

Saturday, September 2

Bradford City vs. Bristol Rovers, 7:30am, ESPN3 and Sling Orange (free 7-day trial)

Doncaster vs. Peterborough United, 10am, ESPN3 and Sling Orange (free 7-day trial)

Sunday, September 3

Portsmouth vs. Rotherham, 9:30am, ESPN3 and Sling Orange (free 7-day trial)

ESPN3 will also be streaming a game from League Two later in September:
