fuboTV upgrades Cloud DVR to include 10 DVR slots

fuboTV recently upgraded their Cloud DVR functionality for subscribers.

In the latest upgrade of fuboTV, the legal streaming service now offers 10 DVR slots. Plus recordings can be stored for 10 days. Even if you forget to set a DVR to record a program on fubo, you can use the Look Back feature to replay an event up to 72 hours after the program airs.

The streaming service has also pushed a new version of its Android app to the Google Play Store, as well as redesigning the Entertainment tab for Movies and Series to “view all” or by “genre.”

fuboTV has also added “Live Now,” “Recently Aired” and “Upcoming” carousels for Movies and Series in order to make sure the featured programming is easier to find.

Now with fubo, you can stream NBCSN, FS1, FS2 as well as beIN SPORTS, beIN SPORTS en Español, beIN SPORTS Connect, NBC (in select cities), CNBC, USA, FOX (in select cities), FOX Soccer Plus, FOX Deportes, FOX Sports Net, Telemundo, Univision, Univision Deportes, UniMas, One World Sports, CSN and YES.

I’ve been a subscriber to all the big name streaming packages out there, and as a fan of the sport, I can say that this package is hands down the best deal out there. It covers the most ground for $35 dollars per month. The added DVR slots are a great addition. Next thing they should focus on is getting DVR access to AppleTV and Roku, however that in itself isn’t a deal breaker for me.

PS. Fubo seems to get a lot of flack for not offering ESPN. I know there is no ESPN, but then again, being a soccer site as this is, I’m sure I am not the only one with the majority of their tv viewership consisting of watching soccer. ESPN owns very few rights to quality soccer and I just don’t see the justification of offering ESPN in a package for an added cost (most likely significant at that). I could see an “independent add-on” channel, but I don’t know how many Fubo customers would subscribe to that either. I know I would be hesitant.

The last time I saw the Roku app, it was not in a great state. At least the Apple TV app has a guide. If they add ESPN, the cost will need to go up. Fubo is really more geared towards international football junkies. It is the only service that I am aware of that has all of the BeIn channels built in and you can record thing from BeIn 2-10. That said, it would be nice if A) ESPN could be an added option B) Adding Turner networks when UCL moves there after this year, though it is unclear to what extent games will be shown on their networks versus Turner having it’s own exclusive streaming service.

Until they add DVR functionality to their Roku app, and get access to the ESPN networks I’ll stick with Sling.

Hopefully, there will be consistent playback with the DVR matches and other programs. I’ve had too many games clipped, have weird deletions in the middle, etc. I also hope they add access to the DVR matches and replays to the AppleTV app at some point (too many frames get dropped when trying to air play from the computer).
