Chicago (AFP) – MLS scoring leader Nemanja Nikolic scored twice as the Chicago Fire routed the Colorado Rapids 3-0 on Wednesday at Toyota Stadium.

Midfielder David Accam also scored for the Fire who improved to 5-3-3 and have outscored their two opponents 7-1 in the last four days.

Nikolic now has a league-leading 10 goals on the season, breaking a tie with Erick Torres of Houston, who has eight.

Nikolic headed in a long cross from Brandon Vincent in the 15th minute to open the scoring for Chicago. He registered his second of the game in the 74th minute on a cross from Michael de Leeuw. Accam scored in the 57th minute for his fifth goal of the 2017 season,

Nikolic and Accam have scored 15 of the Fire’s 20 goals this season.

Colorado was fresh off a 3-0 home win against San Jose that snapped a five-game losing streak. But they couldn’t dent Chicago goal keeper Matt Lampson, who had four saves, including one on a break-away by the Rapids’ Shkelzen Gashi in the 72nd minute.

Chicago will face DC United in Washington on Saturday.
