Key trio return for Bayern, Isco in for Bale

Madrid (AFP) – Bayern Munich’s hopes of overturning a 2-1 Champions League quarter-final deficit at Real Madrid on Tuesday were boosted as key trio Mats Hummels, Jerome Boateng and Robert Lewandowski were all named in Carlo Ancelotti’s starting XI.

Hummels and top scorer Lewandowski missed last week’s first leg, whilst Boateng sat out Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Bayer Leverkusen with a groin injury.

Thomas Mueller drops to the Bayern bench, whilst Javi Martinez misses out through suspension in the only two changes for the German champions from the first leg in Munich.

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane makes just one change from the Allianz Arena as Isco replaced the injured Gareth Bale to give the hosts an extra man in midfield.

Isco starred by scoring a double, including a 90th minute winner, as a much-changed Real won 3-2 at Sporting Gijon on Saturday.

Having reached 100 European goals in the first leg, Cristiano Ronaldo will be targeting two more for a century in the Champions League and he is one of eight changes to the Madrid side from the weekend.

Starting line-ups in the Champions League quarter-final second leg between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday (aggregate score 2-1; 1845 GMT kick-off):
