US Soccer has announced the TV details for the USA vs. Mexico game scheduled for Friday, November 11.
For the fifth time since Columbus has been the host of one of the biggest rivalries in international soccer, tickets for the USA-Mexico World Cup qualifier sold out very quickly. The match falls on Veterans Day and opens the Final Round of Qualifying, also known as the “Hex,” for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Dating back to a frigid night on Feb. 28, 2001, the quadrennial “Hex” encounter with Mexico in Columbus has grown to become the biggest recurring international soccer match on U.S. soil, with the Americans winning by the now familiar 2-0 (or “Dos a Cero”) score line on each of the previous four occasions.
The match will be broadcast live on FOX Sports 1, Univision and Univision Deportes. FOX’s broadcast is scheduled to begin at 7pm ET, while Univision Deportes will provide blanket access from 5pm-2am ET, with Univision kicking off their activities at 7pm anchored by Ivan Kasanzew.
In addition, Univision will have a comprehensive presence in Columbus beginning Nov. 7, with a host of shows broadcasting live throughout the week.
