Saturday’s Premier League match between Hull City and Manchester United averaged 1.16 million viewers to rank as the eighth most-watched live Premier League match in U.S. history (tied with Man City-Man United, 3/20/16 on NBC, and West Ham-Man City, 1/23/16 on NBC).

The first Premier League broadcast on the NBC over-the-air network in the 2016/17 season ended in an exciting 1-0 win for Manchester United after Marcus Rashford scored a late goal that resulted in a mini pitch-invasion by United supporters.

The Hull vs. Manchester United match was broadcast on Saturday, August 27 from 12:30-2:30pm, and was commentated by Arlo White and Lee Dixon.

In addition to the impressive viewing number for Hull against Manchester United, NBC Sports announced that last weekend’s matches were the most streamed Premier League weekend (Saturday through Sunday) in NBC Sports history, with 28.6 million minutes streamed on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports App. The minutes included the debut of Goal Rush, the new 90-minute Premier League show hosted by John Dykes.

Next for NBC Sports, NBCSN presents a special, three-hour Premier League Live: Transfer Deadline Day tomorrow, Wednesday, August 31, live at 5 p.m. ET. The program will cover breaking news and include insights and analysis on all the latest transfers. Rebecca Lowe hosts the program, joined by former Major League Soccer and U.S. Men’s National Team midfielder Kyle Martino, former Jamaican National Team Player Robbie Earle, and former Premier League footballer Robbie Mustoe.

Live Premier League match coverage continues next Saturday, September 10, with the Manchester Derby as Manchester United host Manchester City at 7:30 a.m. ET on NBCSN. This season’s first installment of the Manchester Derby is one of the most anticipated fixtures of the year as both clubs have new managers in charge, with Jose Mourinho at Manchester United and Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. The two world-class managers have a heated history from their time overlapping in Spain (2010-2012), where Mourinho led Real Madrid while Guardiola was in charge of archrivals Barcelona. Now, the managerial foes are in the same city, bringing an extra layer of intrigue to the always-electric Manchester Derby. Coverage begins Saturday at 6:30 a.m. ET with Premier League Live.
