Rome (AFP) – Italy’s Serie A giant Inter Milan said Wednesday it has snapped up Lazio winger Antonio Candreva on a four year contract.

“I am really happy and proud to be here,” Candreva told Inter Milan’s website.

“I always wanted to come to Inter and I’m really excited to become a Nerazzurri player at last,” he said.

While the club provided no details on his transfer fee, Italy’s Gazzetta dello Sport put it in the region of 25 million euros ($27.9 million).

Candreva, 29, began his Serie A career against Inter while playing for Udinese in a goalless draw on 27 January 2008.

Since then he has made 238 appearances and scored 48 goals in the top flight.
