Los Angeles Galaxy and Ireland forward Robbie Keane will be sidelined four to six weeks after surgery on his ailing right knee, the Major League Soccer team said.

The Galaxy said Keane, the club’s top scorer in the last four seasons, underwent a successful procedure in Los Angeles on Thursday.

The player himself posted a photo of his heavily bandaged leg on Instagram.

The injury saw Keane, 35, miss out on Ireland’s March friendlies, with Ireland manager Martin O’Neill saying Keane wanted to be sure he’s healthy for Euro 2016 later this year.

Keane had played in the Galaxy’s first three matches this MLS season, scoring two goals.
