Chelsea star Eden Hazard suffered an injury blow on Sunday as he limped off in the first half of his side’s Premier League clash against Crystal Palace.

Hazard sustained the groin problem while attempting a shot at Selhurst Park and came off in the 15th minute after briefly attempting to play on.

Speaking after Chelsea’s 3-0 win, Blues interim manager Guus Hiddink said it was too early to say how severe the injury is.

“He sprained his leg. He slipped and has a little bit of a problem with a muscle in his groin,” Hiddink said.

“We will see tomorrow with the MRI scan. We will see tomorrow if it is badly damaged.”

The 24-year-old’s injury is the latest setback in a difficult season for both Chelsea and Hazard.

Voted Footballer of the Year after his fine form helped Chelsea win the Premier League last season, Hazard has been well below his best this term and has now gone 30 games without scoring a club goal.

He also incurred the wrath of since sacked Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho when he came off injured in last month’s defeat at Leicester.
