Date and time set for first El Clasico of the season

Jaume Roures, a founding partner at MediaPro, announced on ‘Catalunya Radio’ the date and time of the first Real Madrid vs. Barcelona clash of the 2015-16 campaign.

MediaPro was named the agent for international broadcast rights for Spain’s first and second divisions in July. That meant the company would determine the date and kick-off time of the clash between two of the world’s most popular clubs.

The match between the two La Liga giants will take place on Sunday, April 23 at 2:45pm ET. beIN SPORTS and fuboTV will carry the match live in the United States.

The match will be played at the Santiago Bernabeu and will be the first game following the November international break in La Liga. The timing of the event means a host of players will not return to their respective clubs until a few days prior to the clash of football titans.

Real Madrid are currently on top of La Liga after five matches with 13 points, while Barcelona dropped to fifth place (12 points in five games) after a 4-1 defeat at Celta Vigo during the midweek.
