sepp-blatter

Sepp Blatter has been interrogated by Swiss authorities today regarding an investigation into charges of “criminal mismanagement” and “misappropriation” by the FIFA President.

According to the Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland (OAG), the organization suspects that in September 2005, Blatter signed an unfavorable contract with the Caribbean Football Union (with Jack Warner as the President at this time). There is as suspicion that, in the implementation of this agreement, Blatter also violated his fiduciary duties and acted against the interest of FIFA and/or FIFA Marketing & TV AG.

Additionally, Blatter is suspected of a disloyal payment of $2 million to UEFA President Michel Platini, which was allegedly made for work performed between January 1999 and June 2002 ; this payment was executed in February 2011.

So let’s get this straight: Blatter is being investigated for bribes with Platini. And Platini is favoured to succeed him?!

Truly a case of “in with the new boss; same as the old boss.”
