Liverpool travel to North London for the first time this season as they take on Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Monday (3pm ET on NBCSN for viewers in the US).

The Reds have picked up maximum points from the first two matches away to Stoke City and then against Bournemouth at Anfield.

Brendan Rodgers’ men are three points ahead of their hosts and they will hope to increase or at least maintain that lead after 90 minutes.

Christian Benteke opened his account for the club in the last match and that should give him confidence coming into this match. Building momentum is key for Liverpool with potentially tougher away games to negotiate in the coming weeks.

Arsenal have not had the dream start many were predicting and managed to see off Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park after Alexis Sanchez scored the winner in the second half.

With their first home game this season ending in a disaster, the Gunners will want to please the home supporters this time around and continue the impressive record they have over Liverpool in recent years.

The last meeting between the sides ended 4-1 in favor of Arsenal last April with Hector Bellerin, Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud getting on the scoresheet, while Jordan Henderson got the only goal for Liverpool.

Key Stat: Arsenal have lost just one of the last eight matches between the sides.

Team News

Arsenal are without injured trio of Danny Welbeck, Jack Wilshere and Tomas Rosicky but otherwise do not have any fresh injury concerns and should retain the starting XI from the last match.

Emre Can may make his first start of the season in midfield as he’s likely to replace Henderson who is doubtful with a foot injury. Daniel Sturridge, Joe Allen and Jon Flanagan are all ruled out as well.
