Typically, Fridays are quiet soccer days. There’s the late-night MLS kick-off on UniMas as well as a mid-afternoon game from Ligue 1, but today is something quite different.

Aston Villa vs. Manchester United

First, there’s Aston Villa against Manchester United, which is the first Friday night game (outside of holiday games) since 2003. The Premier League match is live on NBCSN and NBC Sports Live Extra from 2:45pm ET (pre-match coverage begins at 2:30pm ET).

Bayern Munich vs. Hamburger SV

Second, the first match of the 2015/16 Bundesliga season kicks off with Bayern Munich hosting Hamburg SV. While it’s a welcome return to see the Bundesliga back on FOX Sports (albeit on FOX Sports 2 and regional affiliates today), it’s a shame that Bayern’s opponent is a very weak Hamburg side. Hopefully HSV will hang in there to make the match two-sided for parts of the game.

To celebrate the launch, FOX Sports is generating a multi-platform roadblock, airing the match on FOX Sports 2, 17 FOX Sports Regional Networks and affiliates (available in over 78 million homes), multiple local broadcast affiliates, FOXSports.com, FOX Sports’ YouTube channel, FOX Soccer 2GO and FOX Sports GO. Pregame coverage begins at 2:00 PM ET.

The FOX Sports Regional Networks and affiliates carrying the match are: FOX Sports Arizona, FOX Sports Detroit, FOX Sports Florida, FOX Sports Midwest, FOX Sports North, FOX Sports Ohio, FOX Sports Oklahoma, FOX Sports South, FOX Sports Southwest, FOX Sports West, FOX Sports Wisconsin, MASN 2, NESN, Root Sports (Northwest Region), Root Sports (Pittsburgh Region), Root Sports (Rocky Mountain Region) and YES. Local over-the-air coverage is also available in Chicago (WPRW), San Francisco (KICU) and Philadelphia (WTXF – D2), covering nine million homes.

FOX Sports 1’s regular season Bundesliga coverage kicks off Sunday, Aug. 16 with last season’s league runner-up Wolfsburg taking on Eintracht Frankfurt with pregame coverage beginning at 9:00 AM ET.

Athletic Bilbao vs. Barcelona

Third, the first leg of the Spanish Supercopa kicks off this afternoon at 4pm ET with Athletic Bilbao hosting Barcelona. The game will be shown live on ESPN Deportes.
