The National Premier Soccer League National Championship match between Chattanooga FC and New York Cosmos B has been set for Saturday night August 8th.

The fourth-tier of US soccer showcases talent from around the country with 65 teams in 12 regional divisions. The NPSL will hold its show piece final in Chattanooga, Tennessee at Finley Stadium with kick-off taking place at 7:30pm ET.

Chattanooga set the league’s attendance record (9,236) in their previous match, which helped the league’s decision to play the game in Tennessee.

“The NPSL National Championship will be a great showcase for the NPSL in front of what we expect to be a record setting crowd,” stated Cosmos Chief Operating Officer Erik Stover. “Cosmos B is about developing young talent for our first team and this will be a great test for our guys.”

New York Cosmos B is in its first season of play in the NPSL while Chattanooga has been in the league since 2009. This is Chattanooga’s second consecutive season in the final, losing last year’s championship match 3-1 to New York Red Bulls U-23.

“We are thrilled to host such an iconic soccer name as the New York Cosmos,” Chattanooga FC General Manager Sean McDaniel added.  “Showcasing the NPSL National Championship in Chattanooga will definitely put this match and the entire league on a national stage. We drew over 9,000 fans for the NPSL National Semi-Final and have every expectation to draw that many again and more.”

For those not in the Chattanooga area, the game will be streamed live and free of charge
