Swansea have announced the signing of Portugal striker Eder for a fee believed to be approximately £6million. The 27-year-old will move to the Liberty Stadium from Portuguese side Sporting Braga.

He has agreed a three-year deal with the Barclays Premier League club, and will enhance the Swans’ attacking firepower alongside the likes of Bafetimbi Gomis and recent signing Andre Ayew.

Eder started playing professionally in 2008 with Académica, and signed for Braga four years later. Over the course of seven seasons, he played 143 games in Primeira Liga and scored 38 times.

Eder recently scored a goal for Portugal on his 18th cap in a friendly against Italy, played at World Cup 2014 and made his first appearance for the international side in 2012.

So far this summer, Swansea have signed four players. In addition to Eder, the Swans snapped up Ayew, full back Franck Tabanou and goalkeeper Kristoffer Nordfeldt.
