Spurs close to signing Burnley right back Kieran Trippier

Burnley full-back Kieran Trippier appears close to joining Tottenham after Clarets manager Sean Dyche confirmed the transfer was an "active deal".

The 24-year-old right-back has been linked with a switch to Mauricio Pochettino's men following Burnley's relegation out of the Barclays Premier League last season.

The Clarets have already lost 11-goal striker Danny Ings to Liverpool and now Trippier, who was an ever-present for Dyche's side in the top flight and contributed four assists, could also follow him out of Turf Moor.

Dyche addressed the speculation regarding the former Manchester City trainee at the unveiling of the club's new shirt on Wednesday and confirmed Spurs were keen on the defender.

Trippier should be ready to deliver his best for us like what DIER, ROSE and VERTONGHEN are doing or else follow the footsteps of EKOTTO, KABOUL, CHIRCHES and NOUGHTON. Just but to mention afew.

Hmm, wonder if Poch is going to use Yedlin then as he’s used for the USMNT, as a more right wing/midfielder. Don’t see Walker leaving, unless Yedlin goes out on loan. Don’t need 3 RBs. Will be interesting to see.

Athink we need them. It will put pressure on the one playing to do all it takes knowing very well that any mistake he makes someone else takes his place. I guess we need not just three but even more.
