Bayern Munich have extended their kit deal with German manufacturer Adidas until 2030 for a reported $1 billion (£645 million).

The club’s current contract with the company had another five years remaining but Adidas moved early in order to secure the Bundesliga champions for the long term.

“With this extension of the contract until 2030 Adidas will continue its long partnership with FC Bayern Munchen,” said Adidas spokesman Oliver Brüggen.

“We will focus even more closely in the future on partnerships with selected top clubs and associations in international football and with young emerging players.”

While the extension is for a significant sum of money, it is still well below the $1.2 billion deal Adidas reached with Manchester United in July 2014.

Regardless, the Bundesliga’s richest club just added to its considerable wealth.
