Everton host Manchester United in Sunday’s early kickoff (8:30am ET on NBCSN) with Roberto Martinez’s men looking to extend their unbeaten run to six matches.

After enduring a difficult season, the signs are that the Toffees are on their way to ending the campaign on a good note with 13 points from the last five games.

The hosts will also draw confidence from their last two home encounters against United both of which were won without conceding a goal.

For the visitors, they are coming into this match off the back of a painful 1-0 loss away to Chelsea where they were the better side, according to Louis van Gaal.

The Dutch manager would surely rather his side play badly on Sunday and still pick up three important points on the road, which could lift them up to second if other results go their way.

The reverse fixture between the sides ended in a 2-1 win for United last October.

Team News

Romelu Lukaku should be back in the side after making a return from injury to play for 30 minutes against Burnley last weekend. He will be joined by Leon Osman and James McCarthy both of whom have returned to training after shaking off various knocks.

The Red Devils, meanwhile, are missing the services of Michael Carrick (calf), Phil Jones (ankle) and Marcus Rojo (groin) as they continue their rehabilitation from injury. Daley Blind is a major doubt but Robin van Persie is fully fit and could make an appearance in the tie.

Johnny Evans is also available for selection after serving the last of his six-match ban for spitting at Newcastle’s Pappis Cisse and could replace young Paddy McNair at center-back.
