Just to follow up on the comments about the Fire, I have been a season ticket holder for four years and the problem with them is all about lack of a message. They do not have a defined way that they can be identified with, and the hiring of Frank Yallop as both a coach and sporting director further clouds the issue. The stadium is not the problem! Chicago is not Portland, or Orlando, or Kansas City, You will not be seeing a Soccer stadium built on Michigan Avenue…..because we have a real downtown. The distance from the city is not the problem, they are about 10-15 minutes from Midway, and depending on time of day another 10->Downtown. The accessibility of getting in/out is more of a problem because of its proximity to a bridge and an industrial area. If the team is exciting and going places the fans will come, were it not for my 10 year old I would have terminated my tickets after last year. They don’t need a NEW DIRECTION, they need an ACTUAL DIRECTION and Yallop is not the guy to identify that direction…
