Sky Sports Originals went behind the scenes at Real Sociedad to find out how former Manchester United manager David Moyes is adjusting to life in La Liga.

During the twenty-two minute segment, Moyes discusses everything from the difference in officiating in the Primera Division as compared to the Premier League, to his experiences in everyday life within a new culture. He also introduces the viewing audience to his coaching staff, as well as giving the cameras a tour of the club’s training ground and dining facilities (yes, there are no chips on the menu).

Moyes was appointed first team coach of Real Sociedad in November, with the La Liga club sitting in fifteenth place on the table.

During his first week in charge, Moyes rang in the changes by scheduling two training sessions a day – something that is not common in Spain. The coach also decided that La Real’s sessions would be “behind closed doors” more so than they had in the past.

From November until the winter break, La Real lost once, won twice and drew four matches in all competitions. It wasn’t a spectacular start under Moyes, but the team and their new coach were finding a way to grind out results.

The pinnacle of the 2014-15 campaign came just after the winter break when Real Sociedad defeated Barcelona 1-0 at the Anoeta.

But since that time, La Real have fallen on hard luck. They were knocked out of the Copa del Rey by Villarreal, and have only accumulated five points in the last five La Liga fixtures.

Just over a week ago, Moyes was dealt a massive injury blow when Mexico international Carlos Vela was ruled out for two months after damaging his knee during a 4-1 defeat to league-leaders, Real Madrid.

Real Sociedad are currently in twelfth-place in Spain, but remain only four points away from the relegation zone.

More often than not, Sky Sports does a tremendous job with football-specific pieces, and this segment with the Scottish manager is another quality production by the British cable channel.
