Angel di Maria says Manchester United will be his last club in Europe

During an interview with FIFA.com, Argentina international Angel di Maria revealed that Manchester United will be the last club he plays for in Europe.

Last summer, Di Maria had been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain while the winger was still signed for Real Madrid. The French champions were holding out hope that a deal for the talented Argentine could happen at some point in the future. But it appears that wish will remain unanswered.

“Truth be told, I’ve played for Europe’s biggest clubs, competed in two World Cups and won the Champions League,” Di Maria told FIFA.com. “I represented Real Madrid and before that was with Benfica, which, while a slightly smaller club than Madrid, is a giant of Portuguese football.”

“Now I’m with another massive club in Manchester United. When I finish here, I think it might be time to return to Argentina. Hopefully that happens.”

In August, the Argentina international turned down a big-money contract extension at Real Madrid in order to sign a five-year contract with Manchester United – signing for a British-transfer record fee of £59.7 million.

By the time his current deal runs out with United, Di Maria will be 31-years-old.

During the interview with FIFA.com, the winger also hinted he could return to the Argentinian side where he originally made his senior debut, Rosario Central.
