Real Madrid have officially announced the signing of Norwegian teenager Martin Odegaard.

The 16-year-old attacking midfielder is one of the most sought-after talents in the sport and over the past six months had been the VIP guest of numerous European clubs as they attempted to lure the talented Norway international to their team.

But Real Madrid have won the race for the midfielder’s signature and reached a deal with the player’s current club, Stromsgodset, for around 3 million euros (£2.3 million).

Odegaard will undergo a medical tomorrow and will then be officially presented at Real Madrid’s training ground at 13:30 CET. The teenager will hold a press conference with the Director of Institutional Relations, Emilio Butragueno, in the Cuidad Real Madrid press room.

The reigning Club World Cup and European champions have reportedly signed Odegaard to a six-year contract and the teenager will likely start his career in Spain playing for Real Madrid Castilla.
