NBCSN’s launch of Premier League Breakaway has been a hit and a miss according to soccer fans in the US, but one consensus that seems to be unanimous is this: Rebecca Lowe, NO SPOILERS!
NBC Sports launched Premier League Breakaway today to give soccer fans a chance to see live and slightly delayed highlights of all of the action from 8 games across England being played from 10am-Noon ET.
It’s one of the rare days when all 20 teams are playing on the same day in England, so what’s the reaction been like so far? Take a look at the comments below from World Soccer Talk readers on the website and social media.
World Soccer Talk comment from reader Smokey Bacon:
“One thing is for sure. No restroom break for Rebecca!
Can’t wait to see Mustoe and Martino’s half time analysis of all eight games. I think we may get to see Kyle Martino cry!”
World Soccer Talk comment from jtm371:
“Breakaway has the feel of New Coke. Might have to run out and get some Ritalin to get thru breakaway, WOW”
@worldsoccertalk @NBCSN I might need to enter rehab, this is addictive.

@worldsoccertalk Rebecca needs to stop telling us what's about to happen!!! Let the drama build!

@worldsoccertalk take a lesson from @nflredzone – voice over is always 'this just happened at …'

Blowing my mind RT @worldsoccertalk: What does everyone think of @NBCSN's Premier League Breakaway?

@worldsoccertalk @NBCSN schizophrenic, impossible to get engaged in anything. Awful.

.@stuholden @NBCSN Rebecca needs to stop the spoilers.

@worldsoccertalk @NBCSN Also, à la RedZone, perhaps this could ultimately be on its own channel while NBCSN & NBC show whole games?

@worldsoccertalk @NBCSN Not loving it. Very clunky. Just as I'm trying to get into a match, it changes. Switching to #EFCvHULL on @LiveExtra

@worldsoccertalk @NBCSN Magical!

@worldsoccertalk @NBCSN I liked the concept during UCL between 3 matches, but switching between 8, is a little too much.
— Jim Jones (@jsqrd01) January 1, 2015
@worldsoccertalk This is the worst thing in the world so far in 2015.
— Marc Hazelton (@MarcHazelton) January 1, 2015
@worldsoccertalk @NBCSN I would like it if @cableONE provided live extra so I could watch @Everton as well.

@worldsoccertalk @NBCSN as a neutral in these match ups – it's great!! Doing a great job moving between action.#BPLonNBC
