Arsenal’s Lukas Podolski Says ‘Hell Will Freeze Over’ Before He Joins Tottenham

Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski has responded to transfer speculation linking him with a move to London rivals Tottenham via Twitter.

The German international voiced his opinion on the social media site in response to a rumor posted on the official BBC Sport Twitter account.

BBC Sport reported on the speculation that Spurs were lining up a £10 million January bid for the Gunner’s forward, who has not seen much playing time this season. But Podolski replied to the tweet by saying: “@BBCSport @Arsenal Hell would freeze over before this transfer happened #Poldi #aha #AlwaysAGunner #NeverCheatYourClub #AFC #RedArmy”

This response comes on the heels of reports that Podolski had told Gunnners’ boss Arsene Wenger to start playing him or he would be forced to leave the Emirates in January.

Hell technically froze over when the Red Sox finally won the World Series a few years ago.

Hell would freeze over, thaw and freeze over again before Spurs fans would want him

He’s under-performing and I didn’t want him at WHL when he was linked before joining the Goons. So, why, exactly does anyone expect Spurs fans to care – not that anyone took the link seriously in the first place. LoL

BBC didn’t speculate this, this was a really poorly fabricated story done by caughtoffside.com, who routinely make up fake transfer rumors to get clicks to their site. BBC just quoted & linked their story, which they should have known better about.

We really shouldn’t give these transfer rumors any more attention than they deserve, which is nothing.

Normally these rumors don’t get attention. But Podolski responded. Hence the story.
