In an interview with the Spanish radio station Cadena COPE, Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has denied his client wants to leave Real Madrid and was adamant that the reigning Ballon d’Or winner will finish his career in the Spanish capital.

“Cristiano is very happy at Real Madrid and has always been very happy,” Mendez told Cadena COPE.

“He’s going to break all the records with Real Madrid and he’s going to retire here. He has a lot of love for United because his heart was there for six years, but now he’s only thinking about Real Madrid and he’s going to stay here forever. He’s incredibly happy. It’s one thing to respect the people who remember him but he’s with Madrid to the death. We didn’t receive any offers for him because people know that it’s impossible to take Cristiano from Real Madrid, therefore, it’s not worth it to even call and ask about him.”

These quotes will come as harsh news for some United supporters after Ronaldo’s confession in September that he “wished” to return to Old Trafford one day.

The former Manchester United number seven told the British tabloid The Daily Mail: “I love Manchester. Everyone knows that – I have said it many times. Manchester is in my heart. I left many good friends there, the supporters are amazing and I wish I can come back one day.”

“I am happy here in Real Madrid and have four more years, but in the future you never know because they treated me unbelievably there.”

“I really did love being at Manchester United.”

In August, the 29-year-old forward also gave an interview to the United’s official television channel, MUTV, prior to United and Real Madrid’s International Champions Cup match in Michigan where he admitted there would always be a chance of an Old Trafford return.

But last night’s comments from Mendes appear to rule out the possibility of Ronaldo returning to Manchester United.

The Portuguese super agent – who also represents such names as Diego Costa, Angel di Maria, Radamel Falcao and Jose Mourinho – went on to praise the Portuguese international and his ability to carry on playing at his current level well “into his 40s”.

“He gets better every time and he’ll continue to get better into his 40s,” Mendes continued. “Along with being the best player, he’s the best athlete in the world. Nobody compares to him. There won’t be anyone like him for the next 500 years. He’s a very humble person and a family man. A fantastic father. He’s the son any mother would love to have. He’s concerned about others. There are so many great things about him that it’s impossible to list all of them.”

“Cristiano’s dream is to win another Champions League. His dreams are always short term. He’s never satisfied and he always wants more. He never stops surprising me. It’s impossible to find anyone like him in the history of the sport.”
