WATCH ‘An Alternative Reality: The Football Manager Documentary’ [VIDEO]

Sports Interactive, the makers of the famous Football Manager computer game, have produced a brand-new film entitled “An Alternative Reality: The Football Manager Documentary,” which debuted across the UK and Ireland on October 7, and is now available for viewing on the web.

The 80-minute+ documentary examines the enduring appeal of one of the most popular computer simulation games. The stories about Football Manager are legendary.

According to Sports Interactive’s Miles Jacobson, “The documentary isn’t our story—it’s the story of the people who escape to the alternative reality of being a football manager, and the effect this has had on their lives. It’s also the story of how a computer game made by football fans has become a part of the world it set out to replicate.

“But it’s not just for people who play—it’s also for people who’ve ever wondered why others spend so much time escaping into this world.”

Whether you’re a Football Manager addict or not, the documentary is a must-see for soccer fans to get a better understanding of what the Football Manager phenomenon is all about.

How different things might have been for Alec McLiesh if he had listened to his kids and signed that lad from Barcelona B?!

Terrific stuff. Remember the early versions back in the 90s. So glad EA Sports turned them down. They would have ruined it.

Sat and watched the whole thing…I found it hilarious that people would wear suits for Cup Finals.
