Argentina Head Coach Alejandro Sabella will step down as manager of the national team after the World Cup Final, according to his agent.

Sabella, who will coach Argentina against Germany on Sunday, believes it’s time to hand the position over to a successor.

In an interview with FM Delta, Sabella said:

“Whatever happens, Alejandro Sabella will not continue in the selection.

“Alejandro dreamed all his life of this.

“Sabella gave what he had to give in the selection and it is time to give rise to another.”

Argentina will be hoping that Sabella will be able to win the World Cup trophy on Sunday, which would be Argentina’s third World Cup trophy after winning it in 1978 and 1986.
