As much as people in the UK hate it, Celtic to the English football league makes so much sense. Reply jtm371 July 9, 2014 Never happens with independence vote likely to pass. Reply KTA July 9, 2014 The English football league will never allow Celtic into their system in a million years. Reply CTBlues July 9, 2014 I agree with you Johnny but you will get a down vote from every English reader well because they are English. Reply norwalkvirus July 10, 2014 Yes, the UK-folk hate it. But it would be good for all parties. The best step would be to integrate the home countries’ leagues so that the bottom tiers are regional and the top two (Championship & Premiership) are national (maybe top 3).Scotland & Wales would benefit from additional exposure and would help maintain/revitalize their national sides. England would benefit from additional competition, viewership, & money. But, you know, Jingoism! Reply KTA July 9, 2014 “reportedly interested in signing” equals being “on the verge of a move”? lol. Reply Bo July 10, 2014 Don’t think it’s a good idea. Look at our players that went to like Rangers. Turned out great didn’t it… I’d say Netherlands or France or some place like that would be much much better then Scotland. Reply Dean Stell July 11, 2014 This doesn’t really bother me. Sure….the quality of play is poor in Scotland. But it’s a more visible league. If he plays well there, he’ll get to go somewhere else.Plus, I have a soft spot for Celtic despite not being Scottish or Catholic. They have neat kits and a neat history. They win almost every weekend in their little bubble and every few years get a cool Champion’s League result. It’s not the best move in the world, but there are worse things.
