Portugal, one of the group stage opponents for the United States, has released its final 23-man squad for this summer’s World Cup. The shock cut was that of Ricardo Quaresma who made the squad for Euro 2012 but did not feature in that tournament. Braga’s Rafa Silva appears to have been selected in Quaresma’s place.

Here is Portugal’s squad of 23 for World Cup 2014:

Goalkeepers: Eduardo (SC Braga), Beto (Sevilla), Rui Patricio (Sporting)

Defenders: Bruno Alves (Fenerbahce), Fabio Coentrao (Real Madrid), Joao Pereira (Valencia), Pepe (Real Madrid), Neto (Zenit St. Petersburg), Ricardo Costa (Valencia), Andre Almeida (Benfica).

Midfielders: Raul Meireles (Fenerbahce), Joao Moutinho (Monaco), William Carvalho (Sporting), Miguel Veloso (Dynamo Kiev), Ruben Amorim (Benfica), Rafa Silva (SC Braga).

Forwards: Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid), Helder Postiga (Lazio), Eder (SC Braga), Nani (Manchester United), Varela (FC Porto), Hugo Almeida (Besiktas), Vieirinha (Wolfsburg).
