England manager Roy Hodgson said today that goalkeeper Joe Hart will not start in goal during tomorrow’s friendly against Chile at Wembley.

Hodgson will choose between Fraser Forster or John Ruddy to start in the net for England. Ruddy has made one appearance for England after coming on at half time during the friendly against Italy in 2012, where he kept a clean sheet. Forster, meanwhile, has not made an appearance for England thus far.

Presumably Ruddy will start especially after his impressive performances for Norwich City during the past two seasons.

Hart has now been dropped by Manchester City and England after a string of poor performances for his club team. Opportunity knocks for Ruddy who has a chance to impress in tomorrow’s friendly, which will be shown live on television in the United States on FOX Sports 1 at 3pm ET.

Meanwhile, Rickie Lambert has been ruled out of the game due to injury. Frank Lampard will captain England due to an injury to Steven Gerrard. The Liverpool midfielder is expected to play on Tuesday in the friendly against Germany however.
