A capacity crowd of more than 60,000 fans turned out today for a charity match to honor Celtic and Aston Villa legend Stiliyan Petrov.

The Bulgarian, who recently retired from playing due to being diagnosed with acute leukemia, played in the charity match for the Stiliyan XI (managed by Kenny Dalglish) against a Celtic XI team (managed by Martin O’Neill). A ton of stars participated in the game including John Terry, One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson, Paul Lambert, Jamie Redknapp, Chris Kamara, Henrik Larsson, Dimitar Berbatov, Pierre van Hooijdonk, Shay Given and many others.

The money raised from the game will go to the foundation set up by Petrov.

Watch the highlights from the match below as well as several tearjerker moments at the end as Petrov thanks the supporters and the crowd sings along to “You’ll Never Walk Alone.” And yes, the commentary is by the one-and-only Derek Rae.

Another highlight from the game was when One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson was on the receiving end of a tough tackle by Aston Villa’s Gabriel Agbonlahor.
