Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen could miss the start of the 2013-14 season after being ruled out of action for up to three weeks.
Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas had this to say about his star Belgium defender:
“He’s going to be most likely out of training for two to three weeks. Hopefully we can have him back sooner.”
Vertonghen injured his ankle earlier this week in the Barclays Asia Trophy game against Sunderland when the defender landed awkwardly, as can be seen in the video below:
Let’s hope Vertonghen returns quickly from injury in time for Tottenham’s opening match of the Premier League season against Crystal Palace.
