Best Rated New Signings in Europe From the 2012-13 Season

The website WhoScored.com have announced the best rated new signings in Europea from the 2012-13 season, and there are some surprises in the starting XI and substitutes selected.

There are no La Liga players in the starting XI. From the Bundesliga, meanwhile, there are four players selected. Surprisingly, Ligue Un makes a strong showing with two starters, while Serie A has one and the English Premier League has three players.

Some of the surprise names on the pitch and on the bench are Andy Carroll, Chico Flores from Swansea (even though Ashley Williams has gotten most of the spotlight), and Zlatan Ibrahimovic instead of Michu.

The ratings are calculated over the course of the 2012-13 season by WhoScored.com.

Nathaniel Clyne’s move to Southampton last summer. Only cost the Saints £2.15 million from Palace. All season he has continued to flourish at the RB position and is surely in contention to be the next England right back at the age of just 22. He terrorized numerous defenses all season with his runs forward alongside Jason Puncheon
