Swansea City Linked With Sevilla and Spain Striker Alvaro Negredo: The Daily EPL

After Everton reportedly opened talks with Sevilla to try to sign Spanish striker Alvaro Negredo in the January transfer window, but the deal ultimately failed, Swansea are the latest club who have allegedly expressed an interest in signing the gifted centre-forward according to media in Spain.

With Spain’s unemployment rate over 25% and Sevilla struggling financially, it looks very likely that Negredo will leave Spain this summer. But will he be heading to Swansea, Everton, Tottenham or Borussia Dortmund?

Swansea needs to stay the hell away from Sevilla.

Well, that was fast. Michael Laudrup mentioned in his press conference this morning that Negredo is out of Swansea’s price range.

Just sell Williams to Liverpool for 30 million (they paid 15 million for Allen) and you have money for Negredo and another center back.

Swansea can always rely on Liverpool to overpay and they will have the money as Suarez will be sold for well over 30 million.

I know you’re saying that in tongue-and-cheek, but two things about Swansea – They don’t pay large transfer fees.. their record transfer fee was £8 million. And two, they don’t pay huge salaries. Out of all of the teams in the EPL, Swansea pay their players the lowest wages.

Sevilla would have to sacrifice if they wanted Negredo to sign for Swansea.

If Swansea signed him it would be a big coup. He is highly rated. The fact that Swansea can offer him Europa League football is a plus. Playing for Laudrup is also something that some players might find attractive as well.

he’d be a great signing for Swans. Spurs need to scoop him up though, esp if they make the UCL so they have a deeper squad.
