Bradford City vs Aston Villa, League Cup Semi-Final 1st Leg: Open Thread

Despite Aston Villa’s disappointing Premier League season thus far, the club is just two games away from being in a Wembley final against the winner of Chelsea-Swansea. But first, Villa has to travel to Valley Parade where they play today in the first leg of the League Cup at 2:45pm ET (live on beIN SPORT).

Bradford qualified for the semi-final after beating Arsenal on penalty kicks. Aston Villa, meanwhile, beat Norwich City 4-1 at Carrow Road in the last round, where Villa manager Paul Lambert was able to “do one over” on his former club.

Shay Given’em away was in goal today, I’m sure that helps! Perhaps Guzan will be in for the Villa leg.

Congratulations to Bradford City on an incredible win. Whether they can make it to the final or not, we’ll have to wait and see. But they have so much to be proud of after knocking out Arsenal and now that they’re halfway to beating Aston Villa.

    Cheers,
    The Gaffer

I hope to hell they get to the final. An away goal at Villa will hopefully see them through.

Villa already a goal behind. Good news for them, maybe, is that this is a 2 leg semi-final and he second leg is at Villa Park. So even if they lose this they may still have a chance to reach the final. So far, not good though.
