The Jay DeMerit Story, Chasing The Dream: Video Trailer

Former Watford defender Jay DeMerit rose to fame in England from the depths of a seventh-tier team all the way up to the Premier League during the 2006-2007 season. While Watford’s stay in the Premier League was short-lived, DeMerit went on to represent his nation, the United States, to the pinnacle of the 2010 World Cup.

His story is an inspirational one, and it will soon be told in a video documentary entitled “Chasing The Dream: The Jay DeMerit Story.” You can watch the trailer from Diesel Films Inc. As soon as we have more information regarding its release, we’ll be sure to let you know.

In the meantime, here’s my interview with Jay DeMerit from 2008.

H/T to The Shin Guardian.

Just want to let you know that you can see footage of the Jay DeMerit documenatry at – my name is Ranko Tutulugdzija I am Jay’s old teammate from UIC. I co-produced/co-directed the film. It is actually called Rise and Shine: The Jay DeMerit Story not Chasing The Dream. That video posted was a mistake.

We would like to invite a journalist from EPL Talk to a screening in Vancouver of Jay’s documentary on April 4th at District 319 theater. Please email me at if anyone is interested.

Looking forward to this. We went to the same university at the same time (didn’t know him personally), so I’m pulling for him.
