Camoranesi Joins Stuttgart On Loan.

Juventus and Italy winger Mauro Camoranesi has today been snapped up by Stuttgart on a one-year loan deal with the option to sign on for another season. Camoranesi’s first-team place at Juventus was filled by new signings Milos Krasic and Simone Pepe, so the experienced winger was forced to move on to secure regular playing time. With Stuttgart losing on-loan midfielder Aliaksandr Hleb over the summer, the signing of Camoranesi is almost a direct replacement for the Belarussian.

Camoranesi secured a move to Juventus in 2002, after impressive spells with Aldosivi, Santos Laguna, Banfield, Cruz Azul and Verona. At Juventus, he won a Serie A title and earned his first Italy caps, due to his dual Argentine-Italian citizenship. Camoranesi was also part of Italy’s 2006 World Cup-winning squad, and played a pivotal role in Italy’s success in the tournament.

Camoranesi’s electric pace, which he still has at 33 years old, and his excellent crossing technique, will be an asset for Stuttgart this season in attack. Camoranesi’s work-rate can also not be discounted. He will hassle opposition players and tackle defenders and stop opposition counter-attacks. Camoranesi will provide Stuttgart with experience as well as skill, and he is a player that they could really use, especially based on recent form.
