Loew Will Lead Germany Into EURO Cup 2012.

German national team coach Joachim loew has signed a contract extension that will see him lead Germany into the European Championships in 2012 in Ukraine and Poland. Should Loew impress at this tournament, he will surely be given another extension to lead Germany into World Cup 2014 in Brazil.

After a very impressive display with Germany in South Africa, where his young and relatively inexperienced side managed to reach the semi-final of the tournament by playing some very exciting football that saw them score four goals in consecutive games against England and Argentina, Loew certainly does deserve the contract extension.

If not for the football they played, then for what he is able to get out of his players. Take Miroslav Klose, for example. He had an awful season with Bayern Munich just previous to the World Cup, where he only managed 3 goals all season. Then, when he puts that Germany shirt on, he looks like the player we all know he can be. Lukas Podolski is another example of this.

What is also remarkable is how well Joachim Loew was able to motivate the younger players in his squad. Mesut Ozil, Thomas Mueller and Sami Khedira particularly stand out. Mueller is the most exciting example though. Just a year ago, no one knew his name. He was playing reserve-team football at best. Then, after impressing there, he broke into Bayern Munich’s first-team. Just this season he has begun playing real first-team football. He went from playing reserve-team football to being the Golden Boot winner at World Cup 2010 in just under a year. It’s unbelievable.

Joachim Loew’s extension will provide stability and continuity for Germany and it’s players, and heading into the European Championships in 2012, that is exactly what Germany need.
