Jong Tae-Se Signs For VfL Bochum In The 2. Bundesliga.

Korea DPR World Cup star Jong Tae-Se, who made a significant impact against North Korea’s slender 2-1 loss to Brazil, has secured a move to VfL Bochum in the 2. Bundesliga.

Much was made about Korea DPR and their team entering the World Cup. A nation that is shrouded in mystery and a team that is only semi-professional managed to play on the world’s biggest football stage. Stories that escaped from the Korea DPR camp were never positive; there were talks of defectors, talks of having to bribe other asian fans to go to games and dress up like Korea DPR supporters, and there was even the story about the World Cup not being shown to the North Korean people should they not manage a win. The country’s extravagant authoritarian leader, Kim Jong-Il, supposedly told the team that they would not be welcomed back to North Korea if they were not victorious.

The line between politics and football certainly is very thin when it comes to Korea DPR. Still, Jong Tae-Se, the one they call ‘The People’s Rooney,’ seems to have a bright future ahead of him. His talent as a footballer cannot be questioned. He has even made a promise to his new club that he will do all he can to help them return to the Bundesliga as soon as possible.

Jong Tae-Se may be best remembered for his emotional entrance to the World Cup tournament. While his Korea DPR side and Brazil lined up side-by-side for the national anthems, Jong Tae-Se was seen crying as the North Korean anthem was played. It seems that this North Korean, despite the rule and discipline he may have to live under in his native country, truly does understand the beauty of the game and the importance of the occasion. Bochum fans will learn to love him for his desire to succeed and his fantastic work-rate.
