Palermo's Simon Kjaer Is On The Verge Of Becoming a Wolfe.

Palermo’s Simon Kjaer is on the verge of completing a move to Woflsburg, where he will pair up in central defense with either Arne Friedrich, who has starred in Germany’s World Cup run, or Andrea Barzagli.

Kjaer has been billed by many as one of the next great defenders of the game, and his arrival at Wolfsburg will only help him forward in his career under the guidance of McClaren.

Die Wolfe finished in a disappointing 8th place last season, and McClaren will look to take Die Wolfe back into European contention this season. Die Wolfe have been surrounded by constant transfer rumours  for their star striker Edin Dzeko. So far, McClaren seems to be winning that battle.

A Wolfsburg side that is as strong in defense as it is going forward will surely push for a European spot next season, and under the leadership of Steve McClaren who has just come from FC Twente in the Netherlands where he won the Eredivisie title, Die Wolfe fans should feel optimistic about their chances next season.

Kjaer, aged just 21, has represented Denmark 11 times, and even featured in this summer’s World Cup tournament, where he put on a fine display at the back for his national side. Kjaer has attracted the attention of numerous big European sides, including the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester United and Chelsea. Fortunately for Die Wolfe, he has chosen to play for them and will surely become a key figure in their side next season.

UPDATE:

Kjaer has officially joined Wolfsburg, and has penned a 4-year deal with Die Wolfe.
