ArseCast by name, ArseCast by nature…

Have just listened to red cafe, have I missed the plot or something? How is more serious blokes, talking more seriously, remotely entertaining? Who is voting for this stuff? Give the Spurs Show a listen and let your ears relax, even if you’re not a Spurs fan!!

    The best podcast by far!

Has any of you lot ever heard any other pod casts than your own? Gawd, I had a listen to Arseblog, and the Stoke one, it’s just blokes, fairly serious blokes, talking, fairly seriously, about their team. The Spurs Show, since 2007, original and best (and copied by the gooners and Alan Davies). Get real, have a listen and get voting!!

LifeLongGooner I would think that most southern “Manure” fans would listen to the arsecast , instead of redcafe because where you work would most probably be an arsenalcentric area.

“Of or relating to a reference system based at the center of the Emirates”

      I like it 🙂

Surely there are a number of things wrong with this survey:

Do listeners listen to other clubs’ podcasts? No – so how can we rate them?

Aren’t the results going to be skewed by clubs with the most supporters ie it’s not surprising that RedCafe is winning!

      Hi YellerbellyPhil
Your point is well made, other than the fact that I can’t find anyone who has heard of, let alone listened to the podcast… and that includes all of the Southern Manure fans where I work…

Yellerbelly, that’s where you’re wrong. I don’t support Liverpool or Spurs, but I listen to each episode of MP Red and The Spurs Show – respectively.

Where is “It’s Up for Grabs Now”???. One of the most popular one even on the itunes store. The only thing that even comes close is probably the Arsecast and that is unbelieveably good as well.

Oi! Where’s up for grabs now on the list? BBC gave them the gig for the World Cup based on their podcast so surely they deserve at least a mention?!?

I really like Arseblog’s Arsecast. Its is the best download from itunes. I listen to that more than I listen to the songs that I pay to download and Arsecast is free.

If are cheating, and it wouldn’t suprise me…then they should be banned, I remember a newcastle site doing a similar thing a year or 2 ago.
How can they be anywhere near that far up in the voting… has anyone ever heard of it? A straw poll of 9 Manure fans in the office comes out thus…
Ever heard of, not one had even heard of it, not 1, nada, zip, zilch out of 9…
Ever heard of, 6 out of nine had heard of it, 1 even listened to it, 2 answers that I could not possibly put into print…
How did they even get into the shorlist?

The Arsecast is the best. Arsecast was started on a shoestring, the first recorded was literally with a shoestring and a couple of baked bean tins, I have it on good authority that Mr and Mrs ArseBlog, the ArseBlog kids and the ArseBlog dog started out life in a shoe… 🙂
The point is, he is still going and is better than ever. I think he even got to move out of the shoe. Arseblog should be rewarded for all his unpaid efforts down the years.

“it’s up for grabs now” is good, but let’s face it, it’s run by a professional commic with a professional setup and money to burn.

Up for Grabs podcast is the best by a mile.
Ridiculous not having it as one of the choices.
Pointless voting for any of the others when they aren’t the best.

Arseblog. Its just the best one out there. Plus it has realistic re-creation of both Silvestre and Arshavin that never fail to make me laugh.

Sorry for the last comment…just read the one above. This was my first visit to this website. However, it’s pretty shoddy criteria if people just had to suggest podcasts. Please tell me there was more criteria used.

    • The Gaffer

      April 20, 2010 at 7:16 am

Gary, there must be at least 50 club podcasts on iTunes, so it’s hard to stay on top of all of them. But I’ll give “It’s Up For Grabs Now” a listen and will consider it for next year’s competition. The criteria was that I went through and picked the best of the best club podcasts and then asked the thousands of EPL Talk readers to review the nominees and to suggest any alternatives at No one mentioned anything about “It’s Up For Grabs Now” at the time.

How were the choices to vote for selected. You’re missing the top listened to sports podcast in the UK…Alan Davies’ “It’s Up for Grabs Now” Arsenal podcast.

  18. Daniel

    April 20, 2010 at 6:11 am

That means that if I want the RedCafe one to win, I’d just cheat on behalf of the Arsenal podcast?

  19. BT

    April 19, 2010 at 10:37 pm

I am a Manchester United supporter but I think should be banned because they are winning by an unrealistic amount. I think I saw someone talking about rigging the vote for redcafe on the redcafe forum. I think this should be an honest vote.

BT, thanks for the heads-up. As I mentioned in my above post, no cheating will be tolerated. Any sites/podcasts that are found to be cheating will have the podcast they’re voting for banned from the contest.

‘It’s Up for Grabs Now’ should be nominated for the best club podcast awards. It is really funny, even for those you aren’t Arsenal fans.
