FIFA President Sepp Blatter will present Manchester United with a special Champions badge before tonight’s Champions League match at Old Trafford between United and Inter Milan.

The special Champions badge (pictured above) is in recognition of United’s triumph in the FIFA Club World Cup tournament.

The white emblem features an image of the Club World Cup trophy and is inscribed with the words “Manchester United Champions 2008.”

It will be worn on the shirts in Champions League, FA Cup and Carling Cup games until the new FIFA Club World Cup winner is decided later this year.

“It was an enormous honour to become the first British club to win the FIFA Club World Cup and this is a badge we will wear with great pride,” said Sir Alex Ferguson. “I hope we are in a position to defend the trophy in Abu Dhabi in December.”
