Milan, City Getting Ready To Eto’o Swoop?

Barcelona’s urgency to lock up Cameroonian goalscorer Samuel Eto’o with a long-term contract has increased significantly. Gazzetta dello Sport reported today that AC Milan and the player’s agent have begun talking after the player said this will most likely be the last season for him at the Nou Camp.  For many this is the resentment that the Cameroonian maintains with coach Josep Guardiola after he was being shopped around during the last summer transfer book.  Guardiola did not have him in his plans and that motivated Eto’o to be either at his best level to prove the new coach wrong or to be able to get his big payday with another club down the road.

According to the report, Eto’o does not plan to renew with his club, thus leaving the door open for the Italian side to negotiate without any rush. These talks were preliminary as Milan wants to avoid any type of potential tapping accusations that might fly in their direction in the event that they end up accelerating this process.

Later in the evening Ernesto Bronzetti, a man all too familiar with Spain,  denied these accusations and mentioned that they were only “media rumors”.

There is another big player in the transfer of the former African Player of the Year.  Manchester City has offered 22 million euros for his services.  The Daily Mail reported that City was ready to fork over the money for Eto’o in what could be one of the biggest transfers of the summer book.

Do you think Eto’o will be heading to Milan? Manchester City? Let us know.

since every body is looking for means to get money, and considering the fact that eto’o is from a developing world and he has much to do for his country cameroon just like what he has done in KRIBI, i feel he needs money to do such things. For me he should leave barca to city but not ACM cuz his skill is going die just like others we best know. I can die for ETO’O,MY PLEDGE IS THAT MY SON MUST BEAR ALL THE NAMES SAMUEL ETO’O.ETO.O MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS U.

Why are people looking for reasons why Eto’o should leave Barca? As fans of the Club we Know how much ingratitude has been shown to Eto’o.sufficient reason for him to leave infact normal people like Dihno and Deco think that Eto’o is obsessed with Barca.Note that the attitude towards Eto’o is not only with Eto’o it is the case with all the stars who have left Barca either because they are aging or their vim in soccer has reduced. in recent times it was Ronaldihno and Deco. Now it is Eto’o soon it will be Messi and Xavi. why are you not looking forward to retiring players who have contributed so much to your history as a club with some honor as Madrid or the Italian teams do? Listen to this piece of advice, Eto,o let the issue of racism be the last factor to explain the attitude towards you in Spain. show your love, passion and dedication to the game and stay with Barca. let them decide to sell you at your Climax because we all know you are still to attract the greatest ever bid for a player in football history. we the fans want you at Barca so we can see real footballing all the time.

Eto’o has been a controversial player and is seen as a malcatent during the last 2 years before the 08/09 season, from spitting on rival players and calling out team mates in the press to his infamous anti – madrid chant. Than to get booked so not to make the return trip back to Madrid as his team mates form the passage of honor. Eto’o was seen as a coward and when the cules booed him in the final match of last season for his shame he lashed out at the supporters.

I’m not questioning the man as a humanitarian but as a football, he has the talent but he lets his passion blind his vision,

Eto’o is the most underappreciated player in the world. No striker is as consistent for country & club as Eto’o is. He’s a legend in the making and doesn’t get the accolades he deserves. No doubt there is a racial element to his treatment and lack of appreciation. He is undoubtedly the best striker in the world, as a Barca fan I hope he stays but I understand why he would leave to Milan.

Eto’o is the most prolific scorer in modern day football. Like someone earlier echoed, if Eto’o’s name was Eto’odhinho, he should have won FIFA best player atleast twice.I just think Africans cannot make it in Spanish league, because the Spanish mentality towards race is corosive. Eto’o tried ,but it did not work. Said enough. It’s time to move to the English League.ETO’O will be glorified in England.

Eto’o is just unfortunate that he is an African. He should have won the european ballon d’or twice and the FIFA player of the year, even Henry saw it like that.He has potential and he can prove it anywhere he goes.I think he should go to England independent of the club. The British people are the nicest people concerning football and not racists like those spanish idiots.i hope those spanish conquistadores never get to host the FIFA world cup.

I echo @fidel’s words. Eto’o is not trying to quit Barca. He has already put behind the Guadiola issue, let the press stop bringing it up. It is natural that we all go for greener pastures and pursue promising opportunities.

My thoughts, Eto’o will stay with Barca because the fans, staff and coach of course, appreciate his contribution, therefore will offer him what he deserves (or more).

Personally, if I were him, I would want to be part of AC Milan (I have nothing agains them), but the team is pretty stacked as it is, he is guaranteed his role in Barca. Man City sounds promising, but they dont have the consistency as other top teams and are not guaranteed a spot in Euro Leagues (UEFA and CL).

As a cameroonian, I wish him the best and hope he keeps his head up. Eto’o, un lions n’arrete jamais, il pause suelement (A lion never stops, he only takes a break).

Break that pichichi record or pistachio or spinach whatever its called… (j/k)

i don’t know who ever you are to question whether Etoo is a good person? His love for Marlloca where he rose to stardom tells it all. What he has given back to the Spanish people and what he is doing in his country,it takes a good person to do that. Look at people like Micheal Jordan with all the money he has,What has he done to people?nothing.

Eto’o maybe a great player but I question if he is a good person,,,,

when times are bad I would not want him on my club…

People don’t really know who Etoo is. He is a very passionate person and not a pretender or a bad person as Spanish media make him to look. Etoo is a very good heart individual . Etoo will not leave Barca for any club because he has a very close relationship with the club president. If they pay him right ,his priority is to stay with Barca. Even though some people say he is this or that. He is a super star and deserve max money like kaka and ibra,by the way he is a guarantee for goals and everyone that is trying to degrade him will say anybody can score which is not true. Etoo is a player that will score goals even if he has to create. Look at Cameroon national team he is a great scorer.

If Eto’o was Eto’odhino he would be more respected. he was more effective than Ronaldhino but Ronaldhino received all the money . he was sick two years we end up without any title with Messi and ronaldhino active. this year is back and we can win everything but we talk about Messidependance. and all money to messy. i think he need at least 9Million a year. if Barca cannot do that Etoo will go to Milan
