With a current drought of goals in the English Premier League and the traditional top four of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Man United all stumbling, England finally have a chance this evening to watch what should be end to end top drawer football with the arrival of Serie A calcio to their shores.

That’s right Italian football will be LIVE today on BBC3 for the first time all season. Once all the networks in Britain decided to drop Serie A coverage at the end of last season, the island’s populous had been in hibernation, cocooning away their Sunday afternoons and missing what has been the most entertaining European football race of the 2008 – 09 season.

Renewed interest in Serie A has finally reached the ears and eyes of glass towered TV execs in London with the appearance English football icon David Beckham playing in the red and black of AC Milan this winter. Even though Chelsea favorite Jose Mourinho has resided in the same city since the beginning of September, it took the introduction of the English International to kick the doors ajar at BBC studios and broaden the narrow minded focus of English Premier League Only viewing, even if it is for just one day.
