  • Our discussion last week about Manager Bob Bradley’s developing preference for Jose Francisco Torres over Freddy Adu was borne out by his selection. Robbie Rogers also a quick left footed midfielder is a holdover from January camp and could make his first ever qualifying appearence. The big question on the minds of many: will the out of form DaMarcus Beasley start on Wednesday over Torres or Rogers? I’d bet he does, as Bradley views Beasley as safe and is comfortable with him going back to their time together in Chicago
  • With Pablo Mastroeni suspended and Mo Edu not called in, the likely hood of the US starting with only one holding midfielder, Michael Bradley is likely. Rico Clark provides depth and Sacha Kljestan will probably play somewhere in an advanced midfield position.
  • I’m a bit surprised Bradley held over Charlie Davies from the Carson Camp AND selected Jozy Altidore. I thought it would be one or the other, meaning the US is looking at attacking options for Wednesday. Only one of the two is likely to make the 18 man match squad however.
  • With Jay DeMerit and Michael Parkhurst omitted, Danny Califf is the only reserve center back should either Bocanegra or Onyewu be injured or sent off in the match. Parkhurst it seems is having a hard time adjusting from a three man backline with the Revs to a four man back line with the US.
